The coating is still on all of the taps but for the bottom bracket taps, it starts to fall off after a few decades as its a melted rubber type material that dries out. We have a bunch of NOS cutters and the coating has started to harden and crack on them. So it was removed from the BB taps
The wood box does have some wear though from being moved around and having stuff sat on it. The handle is missing from previous owner moving it in that fashion which is not recommended. Its about 50# and the handles on these are plastic but the handles handle is metal and screwed into the box. There are a few deep scratches on the top, a little spot that looks like water damage or just where something pushed into it to the upper left of the Campy Logo and one small ding to the right , below the logo.
The plastic insert has one small crack behind the head tube facing and reaming tool. Another part of the kit that gets damaged from moving. We ship our kits empty with the tools packed in a separate box as this is where most of the damage occurs, They are ok to be moved but there is a small gap that allows some of the tools to move slightly.
The pad on top has some impressions from being squished in the kit for decades. They tend to fill up with air and you need to be gentle when closing them in
We've added a few other NOS Tools, Freewheel removers, Campy Alloy Freewheel remover, Suntour Chain tool, etc.
All of the main cutting tools are brand spankin new. Yes this is not inexpensive but, there are perhaps no others in existence and no one needs this so save your ire for the insurance companies, the corporations making billions while firing everyone and our wonderful politicians who got stuck in Junior high.
There is a photo around where they put store on a flat shelf with ball bearing drawer pulleys so it can move under the counter like a drawer. years ago I built a shelf at an angle about 45° with a lip on the front and took the lid off of my kit so I could keep it ready to go without having to move anything. That was a previous location and I haven't done it again. If I can find a photo I will add it.
We may have another more inexpensive used one in the store. We had a few of these and most sold.
